Bodywork for Women + infants

Integrative Bodywork for Women + infants

Drawing upon Craniosacral Therapy, Pre and Perinatal Somatics, Visceral Manipulation, Manual Therapy + Emotional Clearing these sessions use intentional touch, movement, and processing to bring the nervous system into balance. This approach helps bring the unconscious, traumatic memories stored in the body into conscious awareness in a safe and supported way. This way, the nervous system and body can come into a pattern of regulation, free of distress and restrictions held in the tissues. When our bodies are free of distress and restrictions we bolster our resistance to disease, chronic pain, and daily stress.

Lesha is also specially trained to work with newborns and has been working with newborns for 12 years both as an Occupational Therapist and Craniosacral Therapist. She has specialized training in conception, time in utero, delivery, attachment theory, and postpartum needs from the baby’s perspective. The main focus for babies is Craniosacral Therapy. Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that facilitates the body's natural ability to heal. It releases tension in the central nervous system so the entire body can relax, self-correct, and improve whole body health and performance. She works with the pulse rate of the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF), or the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord to find and release restrictions in the body. This fluid protects our brain and spinal cord and interacts with all other systems and functions of the body. By releasing restrictions in the brain and spinal cord, the body and all of its systems are allowed to perform at their best; this naturally eliminates pain and stress, bolsters resistance to disease, and enhances health and well-being.

What sessions help you + your Baby with:

Integrative bodywork can support you with numerous things such as: conscious conception, infertility, support during your fertility journey including IUI and IFV, strain and stress caused on your body during pregnancy, position of your baby in utero including helping it be head down, connecting more with your baby while in utero or before conception, birth trauma, birth fears around pregnancy, pain after birth, birth trauma resolution, postpartum needs and your own birth imprints. Lesha can also address any issues regarding your womb, sexual trauma, and pain in the body.

For infants this is especially calm and regulating and helps with their own experience of the birth process, torticollis, tongue tie, plagiocephaly, “fussiness” that does not seem to resolve, not sleeping or adjusting well, tight body positions, difficulties or pain with latch, issues with bonding, birth trauma resolution, NICCU stays, and much more.
