What is this course about?

This comprehensive training program has been meticulously designed to enhance your understanding of trauma, the nervous system, mind body connection, internal and external safety measures in the birth room, and much more.

Birth trauma is a significant concern in the United States, with research indicating that up to one-third of women report their birth experience as traumatic. These experiences can have long-lasting psychological impacts, not only affecting the mother but also the family as a whole.

This course aims to mitigate these challenges by providing birth workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and manage situations that could potentially lead to birth trauma. By understanding trauma and the nervous system, doulas and other birth workers can create a safe and supportive environment for mothers during childbirth. This understanding, along with the practical skills gained from this course, will significantly contribute to reducing the prevalence of birth trauma and ensure a positive birth experience for all involved.

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at birth workers looking to deepen their understanding of trauma and its impact on birth. It's perfect for doulas, midwives, and anyone else involved in supporting mothers during childbirth. It is ideal for anyone who is passionate about provide care that decreases the chances of birth trauma. And if trauma does occur, you will have the beginning tools and resources of how to help the new birthing person. This is for you if you want to prevent, integrate, and start to process trauma with your clients.

This four-day immersive course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to better serve your clients and nurture your own inner wisdom. It will help you connect to your own body, teaching you to track your own nervous system so that you can be more responsive and attune to your clients, and understand what to do in actual birthing situations. No other course combines the perspectives of a doula with 6.5 years of experience, 140 births, and specializes in clients with a history of trauma and a pre and perinatal somatic practitioner who has worked with trauma and the body for 15 years.

Cost

As this is a pilot run of the training program, we are offering it at a discounted price of $450. In exchange we are asking for an interview after the course is completed to help improve the future teachings of this program. We will never again offer it at this rate.
